The CD79b molecule (B29, Ig╬▓) is part of the MB-1/B29 disulphide-linked heterodimer which is non-covalently associated with membrane-Igs to build the B Cell antigen Receptor (BCR) complex.CD79b is a 33-40 kDa glycoprotein and belongs to the Ig superfamily. The BCR complex is restricted to B cell lineage, expressed on the surface just after the pre-B cell stage and is lost prior to the plasma cell stage.
