Quantitative Analysis -- Single-Component
Printer Friendly
The Quantitative Analysis system includes software for determining the concentrations of unknowns by either a linear or non-linear (quadratic) regression analysis of the calibration standards data.

Statistical analysis is performed on the standard curve data. The operator can then rerun any standard, omit or include standards, and have the instrument automatically recalculate the curve. The method parameters, coefficients for the curve and sample data can be stored in separate files in the instrument for each procedure in your laboratory.

Features

  • Linear or non-linear curve fit.
  • Choice of zero or non-zero intercept.
  • Use of up to 30 standard values (in duplicate or triplicate, if desired) for calibration curve generation.
  • Correction for raised or sloping baseline using one or two background wavelengths.
  • Analytical and background wavelengths can be selected.
  • Graphic printout of calibration curves showing raw data points, calculated curve fit and statistical analysis of standard data.
  • Individual standard selection with ability to omit or rerun out-of-range standards.
  • Review and/or edit curves on the screen prior to storage of calibration data.
  • Calibration curves can be edited from stored data.
  • Use of up to three replicates for individual samples.
  • Dilution correction for each sample.
  • Statistical analysis of sample data; variance and r2.
  • Cell match function provides automated zero correction of multiple cells.
  • Analytical and background wavelengths can be changed after data collection (DU® Series 7000 only) and the calibration curve recalculated.

Accessories

The Single-Component Analysis system can be operated with several sampling accessories: the Auto 6 Cell Holder, the Micro-Auto 6, the Micro-Auto 12, the Sipper Accessory, and a Batch Sampler. The automatic match function provides easy zeroing of multiple cells.

A basic system utilizes an appropriate cell holder for use with standard cells, Semi-Microcells, Microcells, Ultra-Microcells, or with long path rectangular or cylindrical cells. Cell holders for standard, semi-micro or flow cell use are available in unheated, water-regulated and Peltier temperature-controlled versions.

The Auto 6 Cell Holder is a transport-mounted accessory that holds up to six standard or Semi-Microcells of 10 mm path length or a flow cell. It is available as either a heated or unheated accessory.

The Micro-Auto 6 Cell Holder is an automatic transport accessory that holds up to six 50 µL Microcells.

The Micro-Auto 12 Cell Holder is an automatic transport accessory that holds up to three Multi-Microcells. Each Multi-Microcell holds four 100 µL samples with 96-well spacing.

The Sipper Accessory provides automated analysis of samples by aspirating them into an 80 µL flow cell using the built-in peristaltic pump. Recommended sample volume is 1.2 mL. Alternately, you could select a 50 µL Aspiratable Sipper Cell which eliminates the need to remove the Microcell for cleaning between samples. Required sample volume is 50 µL.

A Batch Sampler for up to 114 samples in 13 mm x 100 mm test tubes provides serial access of samples. For random sample access, a larger number of tubes or other tube sizes, a Gilson* batch sampler can be connected.

* Gilson Batch samplers are not available from Beckman Coulter. Please contact Gilson directly or one of its dealers.
