32 Karat™ Software Version 5.0

The 32 Karat Software Version 5.0 Upgrade is for users of versions 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, 4.01, and 4.01P. It is designed to be user installed, but like any software upgrade, there is a small risk or problems arising. Before downloading the software, please read the following.
- Protect your software license. You should have a valid license repair disk for your system. The installation instructions for this package explain how to create a license repair disk. Remember that a license repair disk will only work on the workstation on which it was created.
- If your system has been certified under the Beckman Coulter Operation Qualification program, do not attempt to install this upgrade. Please
contact your local Beckman Coulter Service representative
to arrange for the upgrade. Upgrading the system yourself may invalidate your certification.
- Your company or organization may have rules concerning downloading and upgrading software. Check with your management or systems administration group.
- This software runs under Windows* NT* 4.0 or Windows 2000. You must have Windows Administrator privileges to install this software.
- The download package is a 38.3 megabyte file. If you do not have a fast
Internet connection, this download may take several hours. Estimated minimum time with a 56K modem is 3 hours and fifteen minutes. Your actual time may vary.
- If the 32 Karat workstation on which the software is to be installed is not on your network, you will need to burn the extracted download package onto a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM can then be used to install the software on the 32 Karat workstation.
- P/ACE™ MDQ customers: 32 Karat 5.0 requires firmware version 4.0 or above. Firmware version 5.0 or above is required to access all the features of the software. For information on upgrading your firmware,
