Beckman Coulter's innovation of the Method Wizard presents a simple interface and solves complex problems. However, experience has shown that these Wizards don't solve every laboratory need. Changing methods produced from traditional Wizards can be very complex; you may be better off starting from scratch. Through Beckman Coulter's Integrated Solutions group, we created the SuperStep to tailor the interface to your needs and to allow Biomek methods to adapt to your changing laboratory needs.

What is the SuperStep?

The SuperStep is a Biomek step that accomplishes a single, targeted task using language familiar to a scientist. SuperSteps can solve targeted problems such as normalization, serial dilution, PCR* prep, plate and tip movement, and many other operations. SuperSteps are placed into a Biomek method like any other step. They integrate into the existing method flow, but accomplish a more complex task than any existing step can provide. SuperSteps make existing capabilities much simpler to use, leveraging existing tools such as datasets and logging without having to resort to complex methods.

The Normalization SuperStep asks for compound plate, desired, concentration, one or two destination plates, total destination well volume, tip-handling options, and error-handling options.

Supports Biomek FX, NX, and 3000.
