Overview The Biomek FX Solvent Selection Valve is a custom product produced by Beckman Coulter to provide the ability to switch between six system fluids on a Biomek FX equipped with Span-8. The warranty for this Custom Integration is one year from shipment. This includes Beckman Coulter-supplied hardware and software. This warranty applies for the integration to the version of hardware, firmware, and software originally integrated. Any changes to the components that cause the integration to no longer function properly are not covered under this warranty. The warranty applies to the system and system software versions (including Biomek FX) on which the original integration was installed. Although our goal is for all modules to be forward compatible, this cannot be guaranteed for custom integrations. Any upgrades to the system (including Biomek FX), which cause the integration to no longer function properly, are not covered under the warranty for this integration. Functional Description The Biomek FX Solvent Selection Valve provides the ability to switch between six different system fluids on a Span-8 equipped Biomek FX. The valve is contained in a control box that rests beneath the Biomek FX system. Five additional supply bottles that are included with this kit are plumbed to the valve along with the original supply bottle furnished with the Span-8 equipped Biomek FX. The valve has the ability to switch the Span 8 system fluids during a Biomek FX method. The lines must be purged after changing system fluids to insure the previous fluid no longer remains in the system. All of these fluids use the same waste container for pressure regulation and overflow conditions; the interaction of the system fluids should be taken into account when using the bulk dispense valve system. Device Control The Biomek FX Solvent Selection Valve can be operated via the Biomek FX SILAS™ module supplied with the device.
