The pipetting onto the MALDI target was not consistent, what can I adjust?
  • Ensure that your target is flat and that it is sitting level in the (modified) labware holder. You might need to adjust the height of the target by putting a shim of approx. 2 mm to raise the target up enough for the pipette tips to reach the surface. The dispensing height of the MP20 tool will need to be adjusted as well. The rate of dispensing may also be adjusted to offer better pipetting. A slower rate generally ensures more consistent spotting.
