Method: BFXMagPCRPurif.exe

Biomek FX system configuration for both methods:

  • Biomek FX software version 2.0 to 2.5 
  • Hybrid System Multichannel/Span 8
  • Can be run on any Biomek FX System Configuration which has a multichannel pod as the left Bridge

To install the MagneSil PCR Cleanup method on the Biomek FX:

  • Download the self-extracting file containing the method and import file.
  • Double click the file to extract.
  • Chose a directory to copy the files.
  • Open the Biomek FX software.
  • Under the File menu chose Open.
  • Select the PCR cleanup method.
  • If labware definitions are needed follow the additional steps below:
  1. In the Biomek FX software under the Tools menu choose Import/Export Utility.
  2. Select Open.
  3. Select the directory where the import file (.imp) is located and choose Open.
  4. Open the Labware folder by clicking the + next to it on the Import File side.
  5. Drag and drop the desired setting(s) to the Current Workspace side of the Import/Export Utility. (Note: Dragging an entire folder will copy all of the settings in that folder. You will then have the opportunity of overwriting or not overwriting each individual setting.)
  6. Continue to import settings using step 4 until all desired settings are imported.
