In the last few years high throughput plasmid purification has transitioned from the human genome project to common laboratory practice. The main driver for this transition has been the development of automated sequencing technology.

The key to success of any of these procedures is the swift generation of sufficient quantities of high quality DNA. We present here an optimized and fully automated method for the rapid purification of plasmid DNA using the Biomek 2000 Laboratory Workstation and the QIAGEN QIAprep 96 Turbo Miniprep plasmid purification kit.

Features

  • Purifies 96 samples in approximately 75 minutes. (See method flowchart on Application Details page).
  • Excellent yield of approximately 14 to 16 mg of DNA depending on starting biomass of cell culture.
  • No user intervention after initial deck setup. (See Figure 1 on Application Details page).
