What your lab may not know, however, is how critical areas of sample handling can specifically affect your immunoassay results.
To increase your understanding of this important correlation, Beckman Coulter now offers a new webinar on the topic.
The online course, titled “Understanding Preanalytical Factors that Affect Immunoassays,” aims to help participants understand the relationship between sample handling processes and immunoassay results.
By the end of this 20-minute presentation, participants will be able to:
- Describe how sample handling influences laboratory results
- Identify a quality sample
- Locate useful resource materials
The webinar is presented by Peg Stangby, a Senior Technical Training Specialist for Beckman Coulter. Stangby has 27 years of experience in the medical technology field, both in industry and in hospital labs. Her various in-house and field positions have specialized in quality control, toxicology, molecular genetics and immunoassay, as well as routine analysis. She has made multiple scientific presentations at the national level in the field of molecular genetics and has had articles published in journals such as Clinical Chemistry.
This new course is part of the company's “Comprehensive Lab Series” and complements Beckman Coulter's other series of webinars, which includes informative courses on Cardiac Markers, Coronary Heart Disease, Drugs, Fundamentals of Hemostasis, Hematology, Tumor Markers, Women's Healthcare Management, Diabetes Management and Transplants.
Like all Beckman Coulter webinars, the new “Understanding Preanalytical Factors that Affect Immunoassays” course is accredited by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) Professional Acknowledgement for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.) program, which enables participants to receive continuing education credits for viewing the course. Continuing education credits are offered at US$20 per unit. Individual course viewing is free.
