Dust Tight and Waterproof Design

Beckman Coulter waterproof systems have been designed to meet IP67 specifications (International Protection). IP67 is an internationally recognized standard describing the requirements for dust tight and waterproof systems. Dust tight (6) - no ingress of dust, protection against hazardous parts with a wire, access probe of 1 mm shall not penetrate. Temporary immersion (7) - protected against the effects of temporary immersion in water, ingress of water in quantities causing harmful effects shall not be possible when the enclosure is temporarily immersed in water under standardized conditions of pressure and time, duration of test is 30 minutes.

This unique concept has been thoroughly tested and proven to be the superior waterproof design. Clam shell designs are not as effective because of the large and sometimes uneven surfaces an O-ring has to seal.

The O-ring in the connector cap seals the top of the system. This item is factory installed but can be removed for repair purposes.
