LS 6000 Series Liquid Scintillation Counters

In today's highly competitive laboratory environment, efficient reporting and management of data is imperative to enhance overall productivity. The LS WinConnection Suite is a collection of 32-bit Microsoft Windows* (95, 98, NT or later) software applications for LS 6000 Series Liquid Scintillation Counters. These PC-compatible programs simplify and automate the collection, storage, and communication of scintillation counter data via an existing network.

Data Capture/Network Software
|

The Data Capture/Network Software can run unattended in the background of a PC connected to the scintillation counter, allowing the flexibility of utilizing the computer for other applications while collecting the scintillation counter data. Data are stored in a binary format -- called Beckman Standard File (BSF) -- onto a local or network drive. BSF files will be automatically converted into the user's choice of ASCII text, Excel* worksheet format, Lotus* 1-2-3 Spreadsheet format, or applications-specific BSF files that are fully compatible with ImmunoFit EIA/RIA, AccuFit Saturation and Competition, and IsoMap 2.

BSF File Utility

The BSF File Utility allows for the analysis, interpretation and reporting of the collected data. The program can be installed on multiple PCs to allow seamless access to data on the network. The utility provides the following key benefits:

Direct review and printing of BSF files in an easy-to-read format

Immediate graphic presentation of the data as histogram, spectrum, or kinetic for chemiluminescence assays

eOn-demand conversion of files into ASCII text, Excel, Lotus, applications-specific BSF, LS-specific Hex-Dump, and Generic Hex-Dump formats

Quick and easy copying of data files from floppy disk to the corresponding default directories on the hard disk (ideal for disks from the Data Buffer & Transfer System)

Adding and/or editing of records in a BSF file for easier identification

iUpdate of inadequate or older spectrum files (Count Time, H Number and % Efficiency) for IsoMap 2

Instrument Performance Tracking (IPT)
|

The Data Capture/Network Software automatically generates and expands a Microsoft Access* database that includes performance data of the scintillation counter. The information contained in this database is used with the Instrument Performance Tracking program to tabulate and graphically display performance parameters such as H-Number, Counts, CPM, Counting Error, and % Efficiency over time. Tolerance levels can be set by the user to clearly indicate out-of-range parameters. Statistical analyses such as Mean, Standard Deviation, and Coefficient of Variation will be performed automatically when viewing the graph and will be printed along with the graph and the raw data.
As specified by the user, "old" performance records are automatically moved to an archive database in order to keep the active database small and manageable.
