Safety Options -- Safety Light Curtain
The active safety light curtain prevents users from entering into the liquid handler work area while the unit is in operation. The side light curtains are intended to be an optional component to replace the Plexiglas side shields. The side light curtains are particularly useful for side access to the NX deck by robotic systems such as the Zymark Twister or the Hudson Plate Crane, which only cross the light curtain field intermittently. They are not intended for use with static devices that would remain over the light curtain such as a Stacker Carousel Shuttle. For these applications, the Plexiglas side shields are required.

Biomek® NX Side Shield Integration Kit
The Biomek NX Side Shield Integration Kit is for use with integrated devices. Side shields have
removable sections to allow for the integration of devices such as the stacker carousel, conveyor
ALP, and other devices, while providing maximum operator safety by limiting the exposure
to moving components. Operators only need to remove those sections that are required to
integrate device function.
