Cocktail for Biological Samples
Sample Holding Diagram

Elution of Sample From Solid Supports
Ready Protein+ contains a patented blend of emulsifiers that are very effective for solubilizing biological precipitates from filters. It dissolves nitrocellulose and breaks up glass fiber filters. The sample is brought into intimate contact with the cocktail, improving counting efficiency and producing more accurate results. It helps to reduce or eliminate self-absorption quench when counting filters in cocktail.
High Efficiency and Economy
Ready Protein+ uses the same solvent and emulsifier components as Ready-Solv HP™. The fluors and emulsifier concentrations have been balanced to achieve the same high counting efficiency as HP, but with a slightly reduced sample capacity and greatly reduced cost.
As indicated in the following table, Tritium counting efficiencies of 46% or greater are possible with 1 mL of sample in 10 mL of cocktail (9% sample load).

Quench Resistance
Like Ready-Solv HP, Ready Protein+ shows considerable resistance to quench. For example, when the volume of phosphate buffered saline is increased from 1 to 2 mL in 10 mL of cocktail, the Tritium counting efficiency varies from 46% to 44.6%, a drop of only 1.4%.
Time and Temperature Stability
Ready Protein+ has been tested for single-phase stability at both 10°C and 30°C for a minimum of 72 hours. At common sample volumes; i.e., less than 10% sample load, most samples remain solubilized within this temperature range.
