Large volume 2.5 and 5 mL syringes address large volume sample processing needs, such as nucleic acid purification protocols. The 2.5 and 5 mL syringes have been tested and verified for use on the Biomek NX^P/NX Span-8 platform, but not validated to any specific application.

Use of the syringes on a Biomek FX^P/FX Span-8 or hybrid instrument requires modifications to be made to the instrument. Please contact your local Beckman Coulter representative regarding modifications to your system.

Use the following software guidelines to determine the compatibility of 2.5 and 5 mL Syringes on your Biomek FX^P/FX Span-8 Platform.

• Software v3.2. Please contact your local Beckman Coulter representative for configuration. Pod and d-axis speeds are independent of each other in the software world, but requires default speed limits and syringe options to be installed, as well as longer system fluid tubing lines for 5 mL syringes.
• Software v2.5e. Please contact your local Beckman Coulter representative for configuration and upgrade. Pod and d-axis speeds are not independent of one another in the software world. The pod speed may be adjusted in Hardware Set-up by choosing Additional Pod Setting and changing the Speed Limit to -30%; however, this slows the entire system. Longer system fluid tubing lines for 5 mL syringe use are also required.
