Avanti Series rotors include a selection of BioCertified* fixed-angle and swinging bucket rotors, ranging in capacity from 360 mL to 6 L, all independently certified to contain liquids and aerosols. An important measure of safety in any protocol, BioCertification is especially beneficial when working with viruses and other pathogenic samples.

Smart

Each rotor has a unique ID that is tracked using magnetic sensors, ensuring that no individual rotor exceeds the maximum speed permitted and sample temperature is accurately maintained.

    • JCF-Z Zonal and Continuous Flow

      Continuous flow processing in the JCF-Z rotor allows efficient processing (pelleting, purification, or concentration) of large sample volumes containing particles with 600 S or higher sedimentation coefficients. This rotor is suitable for sedimenting bacteria, yeast, large subcellular particles such as membranes, and mitochondria. It is also frequently used to clear virus-containing culture media of cellular debris before final isolation of the virus. In the JCF-Z rotor, the zonal technique is useful in separating large particles, such as mammalian viruses and subcellular organelles, from plant or animal tissue homogenates.

    • JCF-Z Zonal and Reorienting Gradient Rotor

      In density gradient separation, sample capacity is limited by the area in the sample cavity over which the sample spreads. With a zonal rotor, the gradient and sample are loaded directly into the rotor cavity. Zonal centrifugation enables larger quantity of sample to be processed in less time than in other types of rotors. This rotor is suitable for sedimenting tissue homogenate, small and large viruses, bacteria and whole cells.

    • JE-5.0 Elutriator Rotor

      JE-5.0 Elutriator Rotor

      Centrifugal elutriation in the JE-5.0 rotor combines two separation technologies: centrifugation, the process of sedimentation under the influence of a centrifugal force field, and counterflow elutriation, the process of separation by washing. Cells retain their viability with gentle washing and low g force. Layer separation without using harsh cushion/gradient chemicals and no multiple steps separation.

      J-LITE JLA 10.5000 Fixed Angle Rotor

      Lightweight, large-volume rotor made of anodized aluminum containing 6 carbon-fiber canisters with secondary liquid closures. This rotor is used for the initial processing of bacteria or other cells from fermentors, clearing cell debris from homogenates, or pelleting subcellular organelles and protein precipitates.
